Artist

I love doing crafts in the summer (well all the time but summer time is when i can stay up late to get them done)! Luke has caught the crafting bug! I had an extra canvas and saw this cute idea on Pinterest so when Henry went down for his morning nap one day this week, Luke made this beautiful creation! He was very into it and I was very surprised at how well he follwed directions. His one direction, cover the white. He chose his colors (with a little encouragment) and chose where to put his paint on the canvas. He was so proud of himself and kept saying while he was painting that "daddy is going to be so proud of me".

 The finished product!
When it was dry and ready to be hung I let him choose where in his room to hang it. (I had to discourage hanging it in the den under the light switch by the front door and he also wanted to hang it above the wall outlet by our TV) As a teacher you are taught to always hang things on childrens' eye level. He chose this place, which I never would have though of b/c he has another piece of framed art above it but I think it looks great! He has loved showing it off to all of our visitors! So proud of my artist!

Sprinkler

This is one way to stay cool during these hot summer days! Rachael and Chris and Adaline gave Henry a fun water toy for his birthday! Today we put it to the test and BOTH boys LOVED it! Think we will be using this all summer!
At first Luke tried to slide by the edges...

but Henry went straight for the water!

Last Weekend

Last weekend we all went our separate ways...Henry spent the weekend with Anny and Papa, I went to the beach for a quick girlfriends weekend, and Thomas took Luke for his first camping trip! Everyone had a great time and we are all still tired from our busy weekend.
Having a grand time with Daddy! Orange soda, fishing, hiking, swimming in the lake, hotdogs on the camp fire, dirty all over and a state park ranger badge! What a treat!

Found a feather on his nature walk and was very proud! My thoughts...dirty! drop it!...but I kept my thoughts to myself! :)

And me at the beach with a handful of great women! (and some spouses and some of their kids too:))

One

Yes, Henry is one!!! He turned one on June 16th. We celebrated with family at our house and had a nice time. I have a ton of pictures to share from his party but some of the pictures aren't cooperating. Hopefully I can figure this out soon and share more pics. For now, here is a taste of our fun! Sorry it took so long!
The balloons from his chair were so much fun the next day!

The Angels

My big birthday boy!

Emma Kate loves her Uncle Tom! (so does Adaline by the way!)

Luke enjoying Henry's cake! Henry didn't really care for it, no surprise there though!

Trying to get Henry to eat some of his cake!

Sight seeing

Neighborhood sightings so far this week!
THE GARBAGE TRUCK! One of the coolest things that comes down our street!

One of our neighbors is having some trees removed...this involved a bobcat or as Luke says "a small tractor" so of course we had to go watch it in action!

Yes, that is a fire truck! What a nice surprise! Don't worry, noone was in trouble, they were just driving through and waved to Luke and Henry. (Luke is left on his scooter) I wish I could have gotten a picture of his face, his mouth was wide open with surprise!

The Moores

We were lucky to get a quick visit with The Moores on Friday night! We met them for dinner. Some how we never even took a picture of Jimmy but here is Jaimie and Henry and I.
As we were getting ready to leave, Jaimie and Thomas were inside paying and Luke, Henry, and I were hanging out with Jimmy and Michael as they were getting ready to head home and this random women runs up the to side of the van looks at Jimmy and says "Hey, I just saw you on TV!" ...and of course questions followed. She said she recognized the Boston hat. Of course Jimmy loved it! Even though I wasn't on TV, it made me feel pretty cool too! :)
Thanks for making time for us after your busy day friends, we enjoyed seeing you!!!
