We had a great Easter celebration starting with over filled Easter baskets then a beautiful church service (you know it's good when your five year old comments on how pretty the music is) and finished with lunch at Rachael's. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of all of us in our Easter best but I do have some pictures to share.
The traditional Easter bunny cake. We started this tradition as kids with my mom. Funny thing, I saw it on Pinterest. I remember the old worn out cake decorating book we used growing up. It hasn't changed.
This is always so fun for Thomas and I. We like prepping for the excitement the next morning. I get the same feeling Christmas Eve. This year we had three Easter baskets to get ready! And we hid them this year, my Easter bunny always hid mine and it was always so fun to search for it Easter morning. As always, they are overflowing.
We packed so much into our short trip to Aiken. Here are some snap shots while we were there.
Sharing a bed for the first time at YooHoo and Jimmy's house. Surprisingly they did great!
EB at the Aiken mall. It took us about 20 minutes to talk Luke into joining us in the picture and I also had to bribe him with a prize! He was a little scared of the bunny. At least he got in the picture, we couldn't get him close the Santa during Christmas time. 😊
Early in the morning, obviously before adults showered and prior to cute Easter outfits, we had a sighting! The Easter Bunny. Henry was so overly excited to meet him that he refused to get near him and screamed and cried so loud he scared the kids behind us. Maybe next year...
Luke's response this year..."it was a girl bunny, I could see her feet under the slippers." However he too kept some distance while playing it cool. :)
Each grand had their own color of eggs to find with age appropriate items stuffed inside each egg...the Easter bunny sure is getting smart! Luke was to find blue eggs and Henry was green.
