Soccer season

Luke's soccer season was successful. He became a more skilled athlete, learned more about the game and met some new ppl. He seemed to like his coach. We hope to be able to sign him up for a new season soon.

Luke played for Furman United - Legends. His team was the wolves.

Luke is number 10.

Papa came to everyone if Luke's games. Thanks for the support. Papa! Anny made it to his games too.

Throwing the ball in. (I'm sure there is a special word for that)

2nd grade

Luke had a wonderful second grade year. He met lots of new and old friend (including his first "girlfriend" Ava Swarez) and had a teacher that was just perfect for him. He finished the year with As and Bs and we are very proud of him. He also picked up his reading score which makes this momma so proud.

Luke and Henry

I got to spend the afternoon with my biggest two. Anny kept Lola Cate and Beau so I could take Luke and Henry for some big kid fun. We went to the downtown airport to play on they park and ride bikes and have lunch. Then we had to cool off with some icees.

Another tooth

Luke lost yet another  tooth this week. This one was a molar and it was also one of his "pirate teeth". There is already a new tooth popping through.

First grade

This year was hard for Luke, he didn't care for the homework and difficult assignments, however, he loved his teacher. Mrs. Laskis was the perfect fit for Luke. Luke also made some really good buddies, Nolan and Paxton. I can't believe we have a second grader now. He will get to go upstairs for 2nd grade. He is excited about that but not momma. Also, I will no longer get to visit him at lunch. :( no more sneaking kisses in the middle of the day. I know he will do well though, he is excited!

Soccer

Luke finished up his first season of soccer while I was in the hospital with Lola Cate. Thank goodness for friends and family who stepped in to take our place. Thomas had to work the day of his last game too.
Like enjoyed soccer but I'm not sure he liked it enough to play again. I hope he chooses too play again in the next season because he is a really good player. Thomas plans to look at other organizations to play for bc we weren't too impressed with Legends.

The Angels and YooHoo with their homemade sign. "Go Luke Go!" They really know how to embarrass him. :)
My friend Leigh. AKA Mrs. Laskis, Luke's teacher.

Soccer

Luke decided that it was time to begin playing soccer for a team. This is something we've wanted him to do for a long long time. He's a natural. He started dribbling a soccer ball when he started walking.  So when he decided he was ready to start playing for a team we signed him up. We signed him up for U8 which is children 6-8 years old. His coaches felt he was playing strong enough, despite never having ever played a real game, that they chose to move him to the U10 team. He is doing great and learning a lot about the sport as well as making new friends. He practices twice a week and has games on Saturday. His coaches are Coach Jackie and Coach MJ. They play on the CESA field for games. His team name is Breakers. And he is #11.

Camping

I think the big boys would go every weekend if it were offered, camping...they love it. Thomas does too. Being out doors for atleast 24 hours straight, what's not to love. This past weekend the boys went camping on the Chattooga river. The were in Mountain Rest, SC. They had a great time as usual but froze Saturday night as the temperatures dropped to around 35/40 degrees. Despite the shivering through the night, the boys had much fun and made great memories I'm sure.

Here are some pictures Thomas took.

Teeth brushing in the woods. Dr. Cherry would be proud. :)

Fire!

Fish.

Burrell's campground is where they went this time.

Gnomes

Ever heard of fairy gardens? Well gnome gardens are the boy versions of fairy gardens. And my two big boys were so excited to do this with Yoo-Hoo!!

So glad they did these. They are so cute and useful with herbs in them. And there is even a baby orange tree in each one. My dad experimented and grew some orange trees from seeds of an orange he ate!!

Copy Cat

Big and little. Beau loves Luke so good. He likes to copy his actions sometimes. Here Luke was watching tv. So Beau did too.

1st

Luke's teacher loves him as much as we do. And since she is also a friend of mine she understands how hard it is not being able to see him and check on him through the day. Today she texted me a picture at recess. Made my morning!
Thanks Mrs. Laskis!

Then I caught him next door at the computer lab, not following directions yesterday. 😉

Luke's teeth

I'm This kid had been through the ringer today. He had three more teeth extracted because they were blocking the way from the new ones. Everything was too crowded. So. He had three removed and will soon have a new spacer put in to help hold the space for the new ones to come. We adore our dentist. I cannot say that enough. Luke had some trouble tonight with bleeding and she drive 45 minutes back to the office just to see him.

His classmates made him get well cards after he missed two days of school. He was so pleased to get them.
