7 months old

Sweet happy Beau. He is happy all the time. And very active. He loves to jump and move around in my arms but surprisingly doesn't like the jumper very much. 

Enjoys sitting on floor and playing with his toys as long as you are near or playing with him. 

Loves bath time, he makes huge splashes. Almost like a whale's tail. He moves his legs at the same time, slamming them down in the tub. I'm usually soaked after bath. 

Love his brothers. If they aren't around he looks for them. And they love making him laugh and smile. They really have a sweet adoring relationship. 

Sleeps mostly through the night again. Wakes occasionally for his paci but is right back to sleep when I slip it in. 

He reduced his bottles to 5 oz. Still 3 bottles a day at daycare (breast milk only) and he has breakfast lunch and dinner also. Breastfed when he wakes up and before bed as well. 

Loves MumMums and graham crackers. 

Size 4 diapers. 

Size 12 month clothes. 

Doesn't like green veggies and gags on some textures. 

Holds and feeds himself Mums and graham crackers. 

Still can't roll over. He has absolutely no desire. 

Babbles dadadada and mamamama. But he hasn't connected those two words to us yet so I wouldn't say that's his first words. 

Attempting to stand unsupported but not yet pulling up on objects. 

Loves to swing and to be outside. 

Loves his daddy but mommy is still his favorite. 

Enjoys daycare. Always smiling when I drop him off.

The first few weeks

School is going great for Luke! He seems to have settled in well. Making new friends. Adjusting to his new schedule and teachers. He seems to really like his teachers Mrs. White and Mrs. Fuls. So far his favorite part is recess, as expected. I get to see him at lunch and recess. I think he enjoys my quick visits during lunch. I try to do it discreetly so I don't embarrass him. He likes his little surprises I put into his lunch box. At recess he doesn't speak to me. But he will give me side glances and a sweet sly smile when no one is looking. I'll take it. My students have picked up on who he is and have already started calling him out, "Mrs. Osborne, there's Luke."

It doesn't take a kindergarten teacher to read this word! Beau. We will work on letter reversal and capitalizing soon. 😍

Baptism

Beau and Eli were baptized together on September 13, 2014. We are so lucky to have both boys so close in age and we are taking advantage of it. Rachael and Chris are Beau's God Parents and Thomas and I are Eli's Goad Parents. We did the joint baptism in Forest City at Rachael and Chris' church, Immaculate Conception. Father Burke performed the Baptisms.

Of course mom made his perfect gown. It's beautiful with just the right touch of baby blue. So sweet. Thanks for another beautiful gown mom!

 My big boys and I. Beau was sleeping before the baptism so we didn't wake him for the picture. Wish we would have though because we didn't get a picture of the whole family.

Dirty boys

Thomas took us all to the dirt bike track the other weekend. Of course my boys loved it. Poor Henry had a tough time on the track so we spent some time on flatter surface. Luke however couldn't get enough and has since decided he would like to be a bmx bike rider...

I enjoyed watching them and pushing Beau from activity to activity but I couldn't help myself from worrying how in the world I was going to get red dirt out of all their clothes. Still working on that by the way, if you have any suggestions. 

There were some big boys there too. Luke was proud to be doing the same thing as the other boys and I was so happy that they were really cool kids. Allowing Luke to go first. Giving pointers, even if Luke appeared to be ignoring the attention. One even put Luke's bike chain back on when it came off and showed us how to fix it for good. (The kid asked me if he could put it back on for Luke. I didn't ask him to do it. I was impressed.) I was happy Luke got to see older, respectful kids interacting with us and their siblings/parents. I know, has nothing to do with dirt bike riding, but it's important to me. Gives me hope for my future, with my three boys. 😜

On a similar note, our neighbor said to me the other day while our children were playing. "...that's why I like him (her boy) to play with Luke and Henry so much. Because they have such good behavior and manners I'm hoping it will rub off on him some." Proud mommy moment, my kids were the good example. 😊👍

Back to dirt bikes...

Apple picking part 1

I was determined we would pick apples off the trees this year. Every year we go too late and can't hardly reach them. So we went this weekend despite it not being fall, the apples are ready. We will go back again for our annual family trip soon. I'm sure we will be ready for more apples by then. 

And this happened on the way home. Tooth number 8! 😳
