5 year old well check

We finally made it to Henry's five year old well check. He's a growing boy! Currently he is 94% on height and 97% on weight. He is almost 3 feet 10 inches and weighs 54 pounds. We discussed my concerns about his eating habits and she talked to him about trying one new thing each week, his choice, and cannot be brown or white (carbs). She told him to stand by the trash can, take a small bite and if he doesn't like it he can spit it out. His first week he choose mini cucumbers. I loved them. He hated them. This week he chose red figs. We will see how that goes. He still has trouble with textures but has learned his gag reflex from any new feeling that he doesn't like (like the mud at the beach!)

He wasn't picking...just scratching. :)

Just some fun Henry pictures:
Loves listening to music on his "iPad"

Adores his Lola. He definitely asks more then others to hold her.

Henry is 5!

Waffle House for lunch, by request. V

It's hard to believe it but Henry is five years old now. Five is a big milestone for me. I think it's because five is my job. Five is no longer a baby. Five is when big kid school begins and you get forced into growing up quickly. We celebrated today as s family and this weekend we will celebrate with our extended family and friends. In July he will have his five year old we'll check so I will report back his stats then. For now, Henry:
Loves:
pizza. This kid couldn't survive without it.
Veggies straws
Chips
Ice cream
Anything candy related
Corn dogs
Hotdogs
Crackers of all kinds
Snack mix

Hates vegetables. All of them.
Only like apples, the crunchy ones

Still loves to dress himself and is particular about what he wears. He has also become particular about his hair, it cannot stick up!!!!! He uses mousse, gel, hairspray, etc.

He has lost two teeth
His figure has changed this year. He has started stretching out, getting taller and loosing his baby chub. We never thought this would happen.

Henry's 5th birthday party

Close family and friends made this party special! We missed those that couldn't come but enjoyed those that made it.
Happy birthday Henry!

Ice cream cake from Menchies-Henry's request

Allergist

Note to self.
Luke had an appointment at the allergist today. Mostly because he has had 7 ear infections since December and they wanted to rule out any allergies before referring us for tubes/adenoids. Thankfully he showed only a trace to mold and that's it. So that's good. But now we are headed to the ENT. Hopefully this will take care of the reoccurring ear infections. And the allergist said to keep on Zyrtec and discontinue nose spray.
In the waiting room. So glad they are child friendly. (Acadia Allergy is name of place)
Initial placement of suspected allergies.

Middle of test. Dr. came in and said looks like mostly negative.

And the end. The biggest red spot on top left is the "control" test. It's made to react. (Bottom middle is preexisting bruise) No allergic reactions. And Luke did great. No tears and cooperated with the doctor.

By the time we got home.

At 5 1/2 years old Luke weighed in at 51 pounds and is 3 feet 10 inches.

5

Breaks my heart and makes me proud at the same time, Luke is 5!! This was a big one for me. I think because 5 is my job. I deal with 5 all day. And this means he will be in elementary school next year!

He requested blue cupcakes for school

Loves getting money in the mail! Who doesn't!

Copper brought him a balloon again this year.

So big

Can't believe this boy will be 5 in less than a month. I already see signs he is growing more mature. He helps when asked, instead of complaining, that's the biggest. He tries to play with Henry nicely or tries to make him happy if he is grumpy. I love hearing their giggles on the monitor when Luke wakes Henry up for me on school days when I am running behind. Luke will entertain Henry until I can get in there to help him out of his crib. And with that, Henry has started looking up to him so much. I kinda understand my "little" brothers infatuation when they were growing up with my "big" brother now. EVERYTHING Luke does or says, Henry does and says. Luckily Luke puts up with it. Because I am sure there will come a time when he will not. I love this big boy. Can't believe he has been on our lives for 5 years!
