Luke is so proud of himself when he stands up! Watch him as he decides to sit down, then changes his mind but its too late! :)

First weekend of Fall

Apple Picking with mom, dad, Thomas, Rachael, and I. We went to Skytop Orchard in Hendersonville on a foggy and rainy day. We still had fun though!

Rachael, Luke and Dad tried to pose with the scarecrow but the scarecrow was missing his head so dad tried to be the head. Didn't work too well.

Luke's first taste of a real apple. He liked it a lot.




I forgot to pack a hat for Luke and it was raining so we used a blanket instead.

Pulling UP

Two weeks ago Luke couldn't pull up. This week he is pulling all the way up to a standing position! My how things change so fast! He surprised up by greeting us on his feet after his morning nap! He was so proud of himself! I wonder how long it took him to pull up or how many tries it took...

Still a little shaky but doing very good! He wants to get on top of everything! At the end of the video you can see him trying so hard to get over the box but his legs just can't lift far enough to go over. He was trying to get the toy on the other side. Guess he doesn't realize he could just crawl around! :)

Grandparents Day

Climbing

Luke is finally learning to pull up. I went to get him from his afternoon nap this afternoon and he had pulled up on his crib to his knees. With help he pulled all the way up. Then proceeded to chew on his crib! I think Luke may be part beaver. We are going to have to get one of the railing gaurds to put on the crib because he has already made some dents and chips! Any hoo, here are some pictures of Luke attempting to pull up on some boxes.

checkup

We had Luke's 9 month checkup today! We always like to see Dr. Nelson for our "well" checkups! We have been pleased with her since she walked into our hospital room and introduced herself the day Luke was born. She is a very small oriental woman so she looks a little silly holding Luke b/c he is so big!
Today we learned that Luke weighs 23.5 pounds and is 29.5 inches long. We still have a big boy! He did have two shots which he handled well as usual. He had a flu shot which made me feel good since i am a teacher and have already had a case of H1N1 in my classroom!!! We will return in October for the flu booster and will call later into the season to inquire about the H1N1 vacination. Dr. Nelson suggested me changing clothes before picking Luke up. Handwashing doesn't cover all the germs when you teach twenty-two 5 year olds!

9 months old

Luke is 9 months old today! It is hard to believe that he has been in our lives for 9 months now! We are enjoying every minute of it! I can't wait to take him for his 9 month checkup on Thursday to find out how much he weighs and his length.
