Back to school for Beau Philip and Lola Cate

Lola Cate and Beau Philip started school on August 15. They started the same day I started. We are super excited about Beau's year because he has one of our family's favorite teachers, Mrs. Julie. Luke had Mrs. Julie for 4k and Henry had Mrs. Julie for 3k. So Mrs. Julie now gets a turn with our Beau. I'm sure she will love him as much as she loves Luke and Henry. Beau adjusted back to school within two days time. In fact on day two, as I was talking to Mrs. Julie he interrupted me and said "You go home momma." Ha. Okay then. He also has many of his friends from his 2k class with him so that makes transitioning even better.

Lola Cate has two new teachers that we are looking forward to getting to know, Miss Marlee and Miss Isabelle. Both seem very nice and are enjoying our girl. Lola has been slow to settle in, being her first time in school, but she is beginning to come around.

You know I had to match them on their first day in school together. Actually I had to match them their first week! :) It was too much fun. I would match all of my children on a daily basis if I could. #momgoals

The first day

Today was the first day of my 14th year of teaching! Woah! More importantly, today was Beau Philip's first day of 3K and Lola Cate's first day of toddler class! Both beautiful children had a great day and both dropped off with hesitation but no tears! No tears, which means mommy didn't have tears! Yay!
Beau's teacher is Mrs. Julie and he has many friends in his class from last year. We know Mrs. Julie because she taught Luke 4K and Henry 3K! We are very excited to have her this year.  Lola Cate's teacher is Mrs. Isabella and Miss Marlee. These are new teachers for us but we are looking forward to developing new relationships with them and looking forward to Lola enjoying her first year at Simpsonville First Baptist CDC.

This was Beau as soon as I dropped him off. He just sat and watched, kinda pouting because I had left.

But then...I get this picture later from his teacher. A picture of him with many of his buddies, mostly from last year and now with him in his class again this year. So glad that worked out.

Lola Cate's teacher sent me this one when she was eating her morning snack. Such a big girl sitting at the table with her classmates!

Beau at recess on the big kid playground.

After we finally got home, reunited and it felt so good to mommy but she was all about playing with those brothers! She was so happy to be with them again.

The back of her dress. It was just so cute I had to take a picture. Love the smocked apple on the back.

Elementary school

Last day of school 2016-2017

K2

Beau finished his k2 year happy! He had a lot of change this year but we stuck with it and he did great. He started the year with Mrs Joanne (teacher) and Miss Amanda (assistant) and Mrs. Lisa (assistant). But Miss Amanda left shortly after Christmas for a great job opportunity. This brought in a new assistant who was quickly moved along because she just didn't mesh with the class. The Mrs. Joanne left for another position which moved Mrs. Lisa into the teaching position for the remaining year and added Miss Savannah and Miss Lauren as assistants. He is a strong kiddo and ended up doing well with the change. And we've now started using Miss amanda as a babysitter!

This year Beau also transitioned out of baby net services (speech and OT) and into greenville county schools services. After a long emotional meeting for momma, it was determined (IEP) he would receive 30 minutes of speech once a week. So from his birthday on Beau rode the big kid school bus from daycare to Simpsonville Elementary school on Thursday for speech with Mrs. Elaine. He seemed to love it and will begin again in August.

Beau also made some great friends in his class and we are looking forward to having some of them in his class next year.

First day andlast day of k2. Where has my baby boy gone to!

2nd grade

Luke had a wonderful second grade year. He met lots of new and old friend (including his first "girlfriend" Ava Swarez) and had a teacher that was just perfect for him. He finished the year with As and Bs and we are very proud of him. He also picked up his reading score which makes this momma so proud.

K5

Henry has had a wonderful year in kindergarten with his teachers Mrs. Williams and Mrs. McConaghy. I couldn't have asked for a better fit for my boy. He was happy to go to school everyday and was still happy at the end of each day, and that is what matters. We are looking forward to another great year next year in first grade.

Test run

Beau starts school on August 9th, same day as me. So Friday our wonderful early interventionist met us at his school and spent their therapy hour in his soon to be classroom. It went great! He did circle time and snack and recess with them. I'm hoping this will help with his transition into k2.
On our way in.

Headed down the hall, like he owns the place.

In they go!

Looking out his new class window.
He's the biggest kid in there, no surprise.

Note to self: beau receives 3 hours of therapy a week, OT (Megan-pronounced Meegan), speech (with Lisa) and an hour with hisEarly  interventionist (Megan).

I had visitors at school the other week. They came to eat lunch with luke and I. Adeline was in aw of the big kids and Aunt Catherine's classroom. She fit right in. The students enjoyed having them and included Adeline in their 3D shape lesson on the Promethean board.

4k

This handsome fella finished 4k last week. What a great year he had with Mrs. Julie and Mrs. Danielle. He met lots of new friends including two other Luke's in his class. I'm excited for him to move on to kindergarten this fall at my (our) school!

Below are Luke's teachers. Ms. Danielle left and Mrs. Julie right. Really enjoyed them this year. A really good match for Luke's personality.
