Henry is 4!

Our sweet Henry turned 4 today! We are currently at the beach with Papa and Anny so we celebrated here.  We will celebrate with the rest of the family when we return. As promised at 4 he had to give up his pacifier. Finally. So today we have been paci free so far. Wish us luck tonight. Here are a few pictures of our celebration.

Henry hacked for this cake
So we did our best and this is what our version turned out like.
Pretty good for making a cake in a hotel room. And he was pleased.

Some of his birthday presents so far were a jack hammer, a boy elf (like the one Luke got for Christmas), Legos (that Luke is thoroughly enjoying), a new lawn mower and a treasure chest full of goodies. I'd say he has had a pretty good day so far.

Later we are going to go to the hotel water park and ride the water slides. Earlier we hit the lazy river, the pool and the hot tub. Luke went to the beach with Papa.

Snuggles. ☺️
Don't kill me for that one Anny.

This year we were so excited to get to go on our first beach trip with Anny and Papa. We went to Myrtle Beach. The boys were thrilled to stay in a hotel room for a week and loved the features, including a lazy river, countless pools, hot tubs, and a crazy 4 story tall water park. They had a blast. We all did. We came home exhausted but it was a good exhausted. Thank you Anny and Papa for taking us to the beach!!

The hotel! Crown Reef.

We were on the 8th floor. Didn't scare them a but but it scared this momma seeing her babies out there.

Ready for bed. This was right before henry gave his pacifier up.

(Just a fun picture to add to this post. The boys were playing doctor at the hotel during our myrtle beach trip. Luke was the patient, Henry the doctor and Beau the by stander or caring loved one :)

Today we went to the doctor to see about some allergy meds for Luke. He has had this lingering cough for about 3 weeks now; I was pretty sure it was just allergies but wanted to be positive before I started treating him with allergy meds. Anyways, not the point of this post... Luke weighed in at 55 pounds. Which I'm pretty sure is a 5 pound weight gain since his 6 year old well check. That's awesome. He still has an amazing athletic physique and is my most physically active child and healthiest eater so far. Again, not the point of this post. As we were leaving Henry wanted to jump on the scale too. We were by ourselves so I let him. I weighed him. He weighs 49 pounds. I couldn't believe it. My child that is 2.5 years younger then Luke is only 6 pounds less. And I'm pretty sure that's a 9-10 pound weight gain in a years time (we are due for his 4 year old well check since he turned 4 last week...another post) I will confirm this at his checkup. But I couldn't believe it!! Henry does not have the same build as Luke. He is big. Not fat but "thick" as some would say. He is my pickiest eater but obviously gets enough to eat. Way to go Henry! I'm looking forward to hearing what the doctor says at his check up.

I scream, you scream,

We all scream for ice cream. Our favorite seasonal ice joint opened back up. Everyone got their favorites today. We even let Beau get some ice cream.
Despite the face, he loved his vanilla ice cream.
Superman with sprinkles for Luke. Which is actually just vanilla with pretty colors.  That was a really smart person that invented that.

Batman (wink, wink) for Henry with sprinkles. It's actually just superman but, he prefers batman ice cream over superman ice cream.

Thomas got charleston salted caramel and cookie dough.

And I got mint chocolate chip and chocolate peanut butter.

We all left happy. 😊

Writing

Found this jewel on the back of one of Luke's morning work pages. It reads .. My teachers are nice to me. They are so nice to me. I love my teachers.

Thankful for a great kindergarten year with Mrs. White and Mrs. Fuls! He sure loves them!

Still need to work on punctuation! ;)

Mowing

All of our boys have loved lawn mowers and cutting grass. They each have had their toy mowers they followed Thomas and Phil around with. But recently Henry has moved beyond the toy mower and has begun mowing our neighbor's lawn, on his own. Thankfully they are understanding and don't mind him doing it. He has even earned 2.00 from them, a dollar each time. He is so proud of himself and begs to do it!

Unique

One of the many reasons we love this kid. He is unique in his own way. There is no one like my Henry. If he has gym shorts on, they are backwards. Because that's how he likes them. He lives to accessorize with watches, keys, sports coats, etc. and he is crazy for socks. For some reason he likes to pull them up to his knees. Most recently he enjoying using Thomas' socks. They are longer. :)
